An optimiser adds cost, compatibility requirements and another electronic device beneath each selected panel. On a simple, unshaded roof, a quality string inverter may be the cleaner solution.

Do optimisers create up to 25% more energy?
There is no universal uplift. The gain depends on the mismatch or shading problem they are addressing. On an unshaded, well-matched array, the difference may be small.
Can an optimiser fix heavy shade?
No. It can manage electrical mismatch, but it cannot replace missing sunlight. Removing the cause or changing the layout may be better.
Can optimisers be retrofitted?
Sometimes. Compatibility, access, warranty, string voltage and the existing inverter must be checked first.
