Quality installation matters more than a cheap headline price
A solar system is part roofing work, part electrical installation and part long-term energy system. We design the whole job — not just the panel count.
- System design around your property
Roof space, orientation, shading, consumption, EVs, heating and future plans are considered together. - Electrical testing and certification
Installation, commissioning and the relevant electrical documentation are part of the job. - DNO and MCS paperwork
We manage the required installation documentation and handover information for your system. - Monitoring setup and explanation
You should leave the installation understanding what the system is doing and how to view it. - Support after installation
Mr Solar also diagnoses, repairs and upgrades existing systems, so support does not stop at commissioning.
Solar + storage + smarter energy use
Make more of the electricity your home generates
The right setup can reduce grid purchases, move stored energy into the evening and, where suitable, make use of lower-cost charging periods and export tariffs. The design should follow your usage — not the other way around.
Generate at home
Solar panels produce electricity during daylight hours for household loads and suitable onward storage.
Store for later
Battery storage can move suitable energy into evenings, higher-use periods or times when grid electricity costs more.
See what is happening
Modern systems provide app monitoring, giving you a clearer picture of generation, storage, import and export.

Useful answers before you enquire
Solar & battery questions
Will solar panels work on my roof?
Suitability depends on usable roof area, orientation, pitch, shading, roof condition and local constraints. A survey lets us assess those factors and recommend a sensible layout.
Do I need a battery with solar panels?
Not every home needs the same solution. Battery storage can help move suitable energy into evenings or other higher-use periods, but capacity should be based on your actual consumption, tariff and goals.
Can I add a battery to an existing solar system?
Often, yes. The existing inverter, metering, electrical installation, system age and any Feed-in Tariff arrangements should be checked before deciding the best retrofit approach.
Can a battery charge from cheaper overnight electricity?
Many modern battery systems can be scheduled to charge from the grid during lower-cost tariff periods. Whether that is worthwhile depends on the tariff, battery settings and your household demand.
What if my original installer has stopped trading?
Mr Solar’s repair and Rescue services can inspect, diagnose and support suitable existing solar PV and battery systems installed by other companies.
How much will a solar and battery system cost?
Cost depends on system size, roof access, electrical work, battery capacity and equipment choice. We prefer a tailored proposal over a headline package price that may not suit the property.
