What Is MCS?

How MCS Certification & Warranties Work

Here is how the protection works for customers:

MCS itself does not directly provide or underwrite the product warranties. Instead, MCS certification ensures that both the products and installers meet strict industry quality and performance standards.

  • Solar panels, batteries, and inverters come with manufacturer-backed warranties covering product performance and defects
  • Installations are carried out by MCS-certified companies that are independently audited and assessed for quality and compliance
  • Customers receive an MCS certificate upon completion, confirming the system has been installed to recognised industry standards
  • MCS certification is often required to access Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments from energy suppliers
  • Consumer protection is further supported through HIES membership, providing deposit and workmanship protection where applicable

In simple terms, MCS certification gives customers confidence that:

  • Approved products are being used
  • The installation has been completed correctly and safely
  • The system should perform as designed
  • There is a recognised process and protection in place should any issues arise

At Mr Solar, we only install high-quality MCS-approved products from trusted manufacturers to ensure long-term performance, reliability, and customer peace of mind.
