Keep more of your solar.
Store surplus solar electricity for later, reduce your reliance on grid imports and see how energy moves around your home—all through a professionally designed battery system.
Make your energy work harder.
A well-sized battery can increase solar self-consumption and give you more flexibility over when you import, store and use electricity.
Use more solar at home
Store surplus daytime generation for the evening or other times when your panels are producing less.
Reduce grid imports
Using stored energy can reduce the amount of electricity bought from the grid. Actual bill savings depend on usage, tariffs and system performance.
Use smart tariffs
A compatible system may charge during cheaper periods and discharge when grid electricity costs more.
Plan for your EV
Solar, battery storage and EV charging can be designed together around your household demand and charging routine.
See energy in real time
Modern monitoring shows generation, battery charge, grid exchange and home consumption in one place.
Optional backup power
Selected circuits can be kept running in an outage when compatible equipment and a dedicated backup arrangement are included in the design.
A battery can often be added.
We assess the existing inverter, generation meter, electrical installation, available space and how the proposed battery will interact with your current system.
AC-coupled battery
A separate battery inverter can often be fitted alongside an existing solar PV system, allowing the original solar equipment to remain in place.
- Useful for many retrofit projects
- Can preserve the existing PV inverter
- Battery operation monitored separately or together
Hybrid inverter upgrade
Where appropriate, the existing inverter may be replaced with a hybrid inverter that manages solar generation and battery storage together.
- Integrated energy management
- Can support future battery expansion
- Backup options available on compatible designs
Flexible control in one system.
Mr Solar installs Sunsynk hybrid inverter and battery solutions. Sunsynk systems manage power between solar panels, battery storage, the grid and household loads, with remote monitoring available through Sunsynk Connect.
The right inverter and battery capacity depends on your supply type, solar array, peak household demand, desired backup circuits and plans for future expansion.

Arrange a free reviewBattery storage FAQ
Will a battery work during a power cut?
Only if the system includes compatible backup capability and has been designed and wired for that purpose. A standard grid-connected battery installation may shut down during an outage. We can assess essential circuits and explain the available options.
Can a battery be added to older solar panels?
Often, yes. An AC-coupled battery can work alongside many existing systems, while other properties may benefit from a hybrid inverter upgrade. A survey is needed to confirm compatibility.
Will battery storage affect my Feed-in Tariff?
It depends on the design, metering and the terms applying to the existing installation. Storage can often be retrofitted, but we review the arrangement before recommending equipment. Customers should also confirm any required notification with their FIT licensee.
What size battery do I need?
The answer depends on your daily electricity use, evening demand, solar generation, tariff, EV charging and backup goals. Bigger is not automatically better; we size the system around usable energy and likely cycling.
Are battery savings guaranteed?
No. Savings vary with usage, solar generation, tariff prices, control settings, battery efficiency, degradation and future energy costs. Any estimate should clearly state its assumptions.
