Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?
Yes. Battery storage can normally be retrofitted using an AC-coupled system or incorporated through a compatible hybrid inverter. We will inspect the existing equipment before recommending the best route.
Can I have a battery without solar panels?
Yes. A standalone battery can charge from the grid during cheaper periods and supply the home later. Solar can also be added in future.
What size battery do I need?
The right size depends on your daily electricity use, solar generation, tariff, desired backup and how much energy you want to shift between cheap and expensive periods.
Will the battery work during a power cut?
Only when the system includes suitable backup equipment and circuits. We will clearly state whether essential-circuit or whole-home backup is included.
Do domestic batteries qualify for 0% VAT?
Qualifying domestic battery storage installations are currently eligible for 0% VAT, including eligible standalone installations.
Do you arrange the electrical certification and DNO paperwork?
Yes. Where applicable, our quotation and handover include the relevant electrical certification, commissioning records and DNO application or notification.
