A GivEnergy fault code does not automatically mean that your inverter or battery has failed.
A warning can be caused by the battery, inverter, BMS communication, electricity meter, CT clamp, AC supply, solar PV array, wiring, configuration or internet connection.
The fault code is therefore the starting point for diagnosis rather than proof that a particular component needs replacing.
If the same fault repeatedly returns, avoid continually resetting it. A recurring warning normally needs the underlying cause identified.

Common GivEnergy Problems
🔋 Battery Not Charging
The battery remains at low state of charge or does not charge from available solar or during a scheduled charging period.

GivEnergy Fault Code FAQs
Can I reset a GivEnergy fault myself?
Some temporary faults may clear after a normal manufacturer-approved restart. However, if the same warning returns, repeatedly resetting the system without identifying the cause is not recommended.
Does a GivEnergy BMS communication fault mean the battery has failed?
No. A BMS communication fault identifies loss of communication between the inverter and battery-management system. The cause may involve the communication cable, connectors, battery power, configuration or another communication issue.
Why is my GivEnergy battery not charging?
Possible causes include system operating mode, battery state, metering information, BMS communication, settings or a fault elsewhere in the installation. The exact cause needs to be diagnosed from the system information.
Why is my GivEnergy battery not discharging?
The battery may have reached its reserve level, be restricted by operating settings or schedules, or there may be a battery, communications or metering problem.
What does ELECTRICITY_METER_COM_FAIL mean?
It indicates that the inverter is not communicating correctly with the system electricity meter. The meter communications, connections and configuration should be checked.
What does INV_NO_UTILITY mean?
The inverter is not detecting its normal AC grid supply. This can occur during a power cut or where there is an AC supply, connection, isolator or electrical problem.
What does a GFCI fault mean?
GFCI-related inverter faults can indicate a potential leakage or DC-to-earth insulation issue. The PV system should be properly tested rather than repeatedly reset.
