Cleaning solar panels
Cleaning solar panels is important to maintain their efficiency. Dust, dirt, bird droppings, and other debris can reduce the amount of sunlight the panels receive and cause hotspots on the panels, lowering their energy output. Here’s a basic guide to cleaning solar panels safely and effectively with Mr Solar’s Solar Panel Cleaning equipment for the home or business.
1. Safety First
-
Ensure the system is powered off (if possible) to avoid any electrical issues.
-
Use a ladder if the panels are on a roof. Consider using a harness for safety.
-
Do not clean during high heat or direct sunlight to prevent the panels from cracking due to sudden temperature changes. Wait until a cool day or evening time when the panels have cooled remembering to switch off the panels.
