Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?
Usually, yes. We can design an AC-coupled retrofit or, where appropriate, replace or integrate with existing equipment. A survey confirms compatibility.
Can I install a battery without solar panels?
Yes. A standalone battery can charge on an off-peak tariff and discharge later. Solar can also be added in future.
Will adding a battery affect my Feed-in Tariff?
It does not normally remove your entitlement, but metering and equipment must be designed carefully. We review the existing system before recommending changes.
Will the battery work during a power cut?
Only when the system includes correctly designed backup. We can specify essential-circuit EPS or suitable whole-home backup after assessing your loads.
What size battery do I need?
The right size depends on your usage pattern, solar production, tariff and future loads. We use those details to avoid paying for capacity you are unlikely to use.
Do home batteries qualify for 0% VAT?
Qualifying domestic battery installations are currently eligible for 0% VAT. Your quotation will confirm the treatment for your project.
How long do batteries last?
Most quality systems include long manufacturer warranties, commonly around ten years. Actual life depends on chemistry, temperature, operating conditions and usage.
